A so so recipe

In a fit of spring weather here (keep in mind it will snow again...probably lots in about 3 weeks), I wore a nice spring like flippy skirt. Small problem with this...I usually wear pencil skirts or something more fitted. I spent a majority of my day with my hands on my ass making sure my skirt hadn't flipped all the way up when I stood up or trying to tuck it back into my chair arms. And trying to avoid the inevitable male co-workers with rulers...I work with 200 men..someone is bound to do it.

And just in case you are reading....HAPPY BIRTHDAY D! I wish I would've been in Vancouver to take you out for oodles of French wine and fun. Can't wait to see you guys in September!

Another one of those Rachel Ray recipes where I could take it or leave it. I quite liked the chicken sauce (and therefore the chicken). I think what threw me was the curried couscous.

Don't get me wrong, I love curries of all types - Indian, Thai, Indonesian - you name it I've tried it. But this....this was just kind of..blah. It just used plain old curry powder and a bit of turmeric and the flavour was overwhelmingly....plain. I think next time I would make the curried couscous with a blend of Indian spices or some thai curry paste instead.

You can find the recipe HERE.

  1. I can't wait for skirt weather! I think the more you wear flippy skirts, the more you get used to them? I usually wear straighter jean or courderoy skirts as well. I look too hippy in flippy. (and by hippy I mean having big hips, not a free spirited individual)

  2. Yeah me too, but I don't particularly mind my hips as much as my stomach area. I've been following your French theme this week and feeling really good about myself...let's see if I can make it stick!

  3. I think after trying so many other interesting curry flavours, going back to plain old curry powder would seem really boring. I never use it anymore.

  4. Wandering - yeah, I think that was the problem. Sometimes I use a little bit of it in crab cakes, but just enough to give it a different flavour.
