When we were kids it was a treat to get cream of mushroom soup because my dad didn't really like it. I find now though, that I can't eat most canned soups. Not sure what they put in them (MSG??) but I end up feeling nauseous for about 2 hours after.
So now when you want cream of mushroom soup I'm forced to make it from scratch. Not a big deal really, as it's not time consuming and the flavour is 1000 times better than the canned stuff.
I try different recipes all of the time and this one from Hungry Cravings blog caught my eye as it has very little cream in it. The only thing I would change up on this soup is to saute some mushrooms and leave them in the soup rather than blend them all in just for some texture.
